Whether you’re planning a baseball-themed birthday party, prepping gifts for your Little League team, or throwing a World Series viewing bash, this baseball gift box template is the perfect craft to hit a home run with your guests.
This SVG file is completely free and designed to work seamlessly with your cutting machineโwhether thatโs a Cricut or Silhouette (with Designer Edition or higher). Youโll find all the details below, along with step-by-step instructions, helpful tips for first-timers, and ideas for making your box extra sturdy.
Materials Youโll Need

Before we jump into Cricut Design Space (or Silhouette Studio), make sure you have the following:
- 65 lb or 80 lb cardstock (for structure)
- Glue (I recommend Bearly Art glue or Art Glitter Glue)
- Cutting machine like Cricut Maker, Explore Air, or Silhouette Cameo – you can make this on a smaller machine like a Joy or a Silhouette Portrait but the box will end up being on the smaller side!
- Access to a mobile device or computer to open the SVG
- Free SVG download from the Community Vault (see below!)
This gift box template was designed with party favors in mind, so even if itโs your first time working with paper crafts, the process is simple and beginner-friendly.
Uploading the SVG File to Cricut Design Space
Once youโve downloaded the SVG file, open up Cricut Design Space and upload the cut file. The file comes grouped, so be sure to hit โUngroupโ in the Layers Panel to prepare for editing.

The largest part of your baseball gift box template is the long rectangle that forms the box sides. Set the width to 10 inches. This creates a box roughly 3 inches in diameter and about 2.5 inches tallโperfect for holding small candies, toys, or custom packages for baseball fans of all ages.
Tip: You can scale the design up to 11.5 inches wide on the biggest piece to fit standard 12×12 paper, just make sure to resize the entire design at once so everything stays proportional.
Score Lines and Assembly Prep
Before you click โMake It,โ youโll need to adjust your score lines. Two parts of the cut file are set as basic cut lines by default. Select those and change them to score line in your toolbar, then attach the score lines back to their base layers using the Layers Panel.

If you’re using a Silhouette Cameo, be sure to load the file into Designer Edition or higher. Once imported, assign score settings as needed using Silhouette Studio’s line tool and group functionality.
Cutting Tips for Sturdy Box Sides
Cardstock choice makes a big difference. I recommend using 65 lb or 80 lb cardstock for this craft. If you’re aiming for a sturdier result (especially for sports fans who might be handling the box a lot), you can cut the box sides twice and glue them together before assembling. This adds durability and gives the finished piece a professional touch.
You can also experiment with different color cardstockโclassic white with red threads is iconic, but team colors or neutral kraft cardstock make great alternatives for custom packages and gift-giving.
How to Assemble Your Baseball Box
Start with the base (the smaller circle and bigger side panel): Fold along the score lines and apply glue to the tab to form a cylinder.

Glue the bottom circle: Add adhesive to each flap and the inner edge of the circle. Press together until secure.

Repeat for the lid: The lid follows the exact same steps. Just note that the top circle is slightly larger to fit snugly.

Add the baseball stitching: Attach the curved โthreadโ shapes to the lid using glue. If you prefer, you can use red vinyl instead of paper for a crisp look.
Decorating Ideas for Baseball Fans
Once assembled, your baseball gift box template is ready for decorating! While the design itself already looks adorable, here are a few extra touches:
- Add a team logo sticker to the lid
- Use gold foil or shimmer cardstock.
- Tuck in a small note with the name of the baseball player or recipient
- Personalize each box with player numbers or event dates using a cutting machine
These little boxes are a fun, hands-on craft for sports fans of all ages, and they make great take-home gifts from parties or team celebrations.
