These are just suggestions and what I used because it is what I had! However, I think there are many substitutions you can use.
- These are the exact reusable coffee cups that I used from the Dollar Tree – if you buy in store they are 3 for $1.25 and in mu opinion are very similar to the Starbucks reusable hot cups that they sell for $1 a piece.
- A scraper of some sort, I am using the Cricut spatula. I do believe you want to use something metal and thin. They have a dupe at the Dollar Tree of the Cricut spatula as well! Check that out here.
- Alcohol pads or rubbing alcohol and some tissue and I also used Lysol wipes.
After you have the reusable coffee cups cleaned off, you can decorate with vinyl – I was not a vinyl lover but I am starting to enjoy it more since switching to using only Teckwrap Craft Vinyl. No bubbling and easy weeding! You can save with code DINOMAMA!
How to Remove the Writing for Your Cricut Craft
Before we get started, I do want to mentioned I tried using pure acetone, rubbing alcohol, AND a magic eraser but I did not succeed. I did receive some suggestions like boiling water and putting it inside and also goo-be-gone however I did not test these yet.
This is going to sound so silly, but grab that scraper and start at the edge of a letter and start scratching. As I went along I used my lysol wipe to get rid of any of the paint dust that was left on.
Scratch gently without an over use of force, you don’t want to cause damage to the cup which I didn’t see any on mine at the end.
Once I was done with all the letters, I used my alcohol wipes to clean it up and went back in with my spatula to clean up any missed parts of the words.
This really is the simplest way. Scrape it off. It takes about 5 minutes to do the whole cup, but the end is a clean blank for you to decorate on your own. I love these for practice and honestly just for everyday. At the 3 for $1.25 price, you aren’t as likely to get upset over forgetting it, it messing up, or damage!
