Why Celebrate the 100th Day of School?

The 100th day of school isnโt just a date on the calendar; itโs an opportunity to reflect on all the days of learning and the growth that has occurred. For younger children, itโs also a great way to reinforce counting, introduce tally marks, and celebrate the days of the school year with fun activities that build fine motor and social skills. Elementary students, especially those in kindergarten classrooms or 1st grade, find this day extra exciting because it emphasizes how far theyโve come as young learners. I know my son has been counting every day since starting and he is quickly approaching his 100th day of kindergarten. Where did this school year go??

- Printable 100 Days Smarter Crown template (available as a free download in my community vault library). Find download instructions below.
- Cardstock or construction paper (for the head strip band) – I used a 65 lb cardstock with my son but you can definitely use something thinner. For the printed page I suggest a thicker cardstock over regular printer paper if possible but either will work!
- Crayons, markers, or colored pencils – anything to color in your crown to make it special and unique.
- Scissors – kid friendly or you can help the students cut.
- Stapler – to attach the band onto the crown. You can also opt for glue.
- Optional: gems, glitter, feathers, pompoms, – any embellishment to add onto the crown for a little sparkle!
