Utilize Shelving Throughout Your Room

Floating shelves (these aren’t the same ones I have but are very similar) are a great way to maximize the vertical space in your craft room. Not only are they stylish and easy to install, but they can also be used to store supplies and other materials that you use regularly. To add visual interest and make items easier to find, try organizing your floating shelves into sections according to size, shape, color, or material type. Also, peep the Bearly Arts glue bears (and shop and save with code DINOMAMA).

Find a Home for Your Most-Reach Supplies.

If you craft often using the same few supplies, designating specific homes in your craft room for them can help you save time and stay organized. My favorite is to store items in these rolling carts from Michaels, Walmart or Amazon. My biggest take on these is to wait for a sale! I grabbed my carts for under $10 a piece when Michaels was getting rid of some colors. Just keep your eyes peeled for deals! They hold a lot more than you would expect and are great to put out of sight, especially if you are working in limited space. You’ll love how efficient it is to not have to search for your most-used supplies every time!

Dedicate Surface Space and Sort Craft Materials.

I keep this table completely clean for loading up my Cricut mats for cutting and sorting projects. Avoid the urge to stack supplies on any flat surfaces as this will only create clutter and ultimately hinder you from starting craft projects whenever you have a moment of inspiration. Use containers or baskets and give each type of material its own container. Check out my budget friendly way below my table to keep my scrap papers. I use manilla folders and an old Amazon box to sort my scrap papers by color and texture. These are easily accessible for me when I make my projects. Label and organize containers or baskets by material such as acrylic paints, beads, paper, glitter, etc. This will help create order out of chaos so you can easily see what supplies you have available and find whatever materials you need in no time at all! Up top of my desk you will also see a peg board for all my quick grab tools. Peg boards are an excellent way to store your items up and off your desk for more room to create.

Invest in a Great Way to Organize Vinyl Rolls

Are you a fan of vinyl projects? If so, you’ll need a good way to organize your vinyl rolls. Invest in the perfect organization piece like a wall-mounted system or an organizer stand so that you can easily display and access all the different sizes and colors of vinyl rolls. Keep other craft room supplies such as scissors, pens and extra adhesive in separate drawers or bins for easy organization. Or look into investing into a peg board as shown in the preview picture. This clever way to organize your vinyl rolls will help save time during your crafting sessions by providing easy access to the exact supplies you need! This is the exact vinyl holders I have above, I took it off of the spinning mechanism and mounted to the wall!

Organize Paper like a Pro

One of the best ways to organize paper in your craft room is to use wall mounted slotted holder – I prefer this for my 8.5×11 cardstock paper. This type of organization system will provide you with several separate compartments so that you can keep all your colors, weights, and textures organized in one place. I also store my 12×12 papers on a wire rack seperated by color, texture, and pattern!

The overall organization of my craft room can still be cleaned up (no one in perfect) but I like to work with what I have rather than continue to spend money on new items. A craft room on a budget is still doable!
