Free Baby Shower Card SVG | Cricut Box Card Tutorial

If you’re looking for a heartwarming, handmade way to celebrate a new baby, you’re in the right place! This free baby shower card SVG is perfect for making a pop-up box card using your Cricut or Silhouette machine. Featuring an adorable clothesline with baby onesies, socks, and a laundry basket, this 3D design folds flat for mailing but pops up for display. This is one of my favorite SVG files I’ve designed to date—and my very first box card project! Let’s jump into this easy tutorial with step-by-step instructions, plenty of tips for working with score lines and card layers, and the full SVG cut file available to download free.

What You Need to Make This Pop-Up Baby Shower Card

Before we start the step-by-step guide, gather your supplies:

Cricut Explore, Cricut Maker, or Silhouette machine
Cricut StandardGrip mat or similar
Textured cardstock (I used 65 lb)
Scoring tool, scoring stylus, or scoring wheel
Glue or tape gun

Where to Get the Free Baby Shower Card SVG

If you are looking for other file types for these, my suggestion is to try convert.io or download inkscape for free so that you can use my free SVG collection as a PNG, DXF or other file formats of your choice.

Uploading the SVG Files to Cricut Design Space

Once you download and unzip the SVG files, open Cricut Design Space or the Cricut App and upload the SVG cut file.

Resize, I would suggest using the blue panel as your marker. This should be about 7 inches wide. Make sure to resize the whole file.
Ungroup everything to begin. You’ll notice two panels in the layers panel that need score lines.
Use the scoring tool or scoring stylus to change the operation from Basic Cut to Score.
Select the group again and use the Attach option to hold your fold lines in place.
Repeat step for both panels with score lines.
Use the color sync tab to adjust cardstock colors if needed. You’ll find the baby onesies, socks, bib, and basket all easy to customize!

You can also use Cricut pens and a fun writing font to add a sweet sentiment to your card. The white panel on the right is for your writing. You can also delete this if you don’t want to use it.

Assembling Your Baby Shower Box Card

Follow these step instructions to build your box card:

Start by assembling the decorative pieces – the sun, clouds, laundry basket, and baby clothes. I used low-grip transfer tape for small pieces but found manual placement easier. Refer back to Cricut Design Space for the correct layout of each card layer.
Build your card front first by attaching the laundry basket to the green panel and the clothesline to the background.
Glue on your bib, baby onesies, and socks – they hang across the white clothesline. I found that all these little details add up to make a beautiful card.
Move on to the back card layer, adding the clouds and sun. Place clouds first to ensure the sun doesn’t overlap incorrectly.

Folding and Gluing the Box Card

Now it’s time to work with your score lines:

Fold both the front and middle card layers along the score lines.
Apply glue to the tab of the inner card piece (the brown one) and attach it to the back crease of the green front layer. This spacing helps give it the 3D pop-up card structure.

Attach everything to the back panel. Reminder: There’s an extra white panel you can use if you’d like to write a message or use your Cricut pen to write directly on it.

Let it dry thoroughly before folding flat or placing in an envelope.

Tips for Perfect Cuts and Assembly

Be sure to check your fold lines and attach option settings before clicking Make It.
Use a scoring wheel or scoring stylus depending on your machine. The Cricut Maker and Cricut Explore both support score lines, and even Silhouette machine users can use manual scoring.
The ungroup button is your best friend here when you want to modify card layers or swap out elements.
Adjust sizing if needed in Cricut Design Space.
This card design is perfect for gifting with a baby gift card, attaching to baby onesies, or even displaying as baby shower decor.
