DIY Candle Holder with Cricut | Christmas Flameless Votive Craft
Embracing the Spirit of the Season with a DIY Flameless Candle Holder
The holiday season has always been a time of warmth, joy, and the spirit of giving. This year, as I prepared to deck the halls for Christmas, I found myself inspired by the timeless elegance of Holly. The vibrant green leaves and festive red berries sparked an idea: I wanted to create something truly special, a centerpiece that would capture the essence of the season and become a focal point for holiday gatherings.
As I envisioned the perfect holiday centerpiece, I considered the cozy glow of candlelight, a symbol of comfort and togetherness. However, with safety in mind, I opted for a flameless alternative. This decision led me to embark on a creative journey to craft a stunning DIY Flameless Candle Holder made entirely of cardstock.
Why Cardstock?
Cardstock, with its versatility and array of colors, provided the ideal canvas for bringing my festive vision to life. The flameless aspect not only ensured safety but also opened the door to endless customization possibilities. The ability to tailor the color palette and size of the candle holder made it the perfect addition to my holiday decor.
As I delved into this project, I realized the potential for a series of designs, each capturing the essence of different seasons and occasions. This DIY Flameless Candle Holder is just the first chapter in what promises to be a series of creative and customizable projects. Cricut Design Space Set Up
You can resize as needed. For width size go based off the hexagon, this will give you the best idea. You can size to the need of your flamless candle. I made one about 3-4 inches and one closer to 2 inches but whatever you have is what you want to base this off of.
Next, ungroup and change the lines to score lines and reattach to the hexagon base with the paperclip.
Finally, change any colors (I did one in pink, white, and gold too) and then cut according to your favorite settings.
Assembly of the DIY Candle Holder
Step One: Create the inside Hexagon
You will fold on all the score lines to create nice creases.
Next, glue the side flap together and then attach the bottom hexagon. For this project I put the flaps on the bottom but you can glue them either way.
Step Two: Wrap the Circle
You can wrap the circular piece on the outside or wrap it and then place the hexagon inside. You will glue the flap around, there is no crease here to keep it smooth. It should fit snug around the hexagon piece.
Step Three: Glue on the Holly Berries
Fold all your holly leaves out and start gluing on the berries. Three per set of leaves.
Step Four: Place FLAMELESS Votive Candle Inside
Make sure the candle is flameless, putting an actual flamed candle is a fire hazard. You can secure it with double sided tape if you dont want any sliding.
Illuminating Memories with Your DIY Flameless Candle Holder
As we bring our creative journey to a close, your DIY Flameless Candle Holder stands not just as a beautiful centerpiece but as a testament to the joy of crafting and the spirit of the season. The warmth and elegance it exudes are not just from the flickering flameless candle within but from the love and creativity infused into each step.
Reflecting on the Crafting Process:
The assembly of this candle holder has been a delightful experience, hasn’t it? Folding the inside hexagon to create defined creases, wrapping the circular piece with precision, and adding the finishing touch with the holly berries—all these steps contribute to the creation of a festive masterpiece. Safety First:
A crucial reminder echoes through the crafting process: safety comes first. The flameless candle, nestled within the heart of your creation, brings a gentle glow without the worry of an open flame. As you place the flameless votive inside, it’s a symbolic gesture of not just illuminating your space but doing so responsibly, without compromising safety.

One of the highlights of this project is its customizable nature. The ability to choose colors, sizes, and even the orientation of the flaps opens the door to a myriad of creative possibilities.
