DIY Straw Topper Assembly
Step 1: Download the Free SVGs for the DIY Straw Toppers
The first step in creating your toppers is to download the free SVG files (Design Number #159). These designs are crafted to fit perfectly on most straw sizes, ensuring a snug fit. The new files will be found in my free Community Vault. Please sign up for my newsletter to get the welcome letter with the password. Find the instructions for download here.
Step 2: Upload to Cutting Software
Once youโve downloaded your straw topper SVGs, you will upload them to your cutting software. These files are made for easy use. I wanted to make this quick to upload and cut so you can make your party perfect. Check out my DIY Photo Booth Props for Valentine’s Day as well!
Step 3: Resize Your Designs & Change the Colors
To ensure your toppers fit properly, resize them to around 2.5 inches wide. This size works well for most straws and provides enough coverage for the design to stand out without overpowering your drink. Remember, you can adjust the size based on your preference or straw type. There is a small rectangle at the bottom of each straw topper design. This is to be wrapped around the straw. I cut mine at 1 inch wide but if you have those thicker straws, you might need them wider.
Change to any colors you would like!
Step 4: Send to Cut
Load your cutting machine with the material of your choice. I went with glitter cardstock for my designs, but you can also experiment with other materials like foil paper or patterned. Send the design to cut and watch your machine bring these straw toppers to life.
Step 5: Assemble and Slide Over Straws
To assemble first wrap the rectangle around your straw and glue the cylinder shut. Optionally, you could just glue it to the straw but I wanted mine to be removable.
Then, go ahead and glue the design to the cylinder! Once they are dry, you can move them up and down and switch straw colors, etc. So easy!

These toppers are versatile and can be made by beginner crafters. Whether youโre planning a birthday bash, a Valentineโs party, or a Galentineโs get-together, these straw toppers are the right straw toppers for the occasion.
