- Cutting machine – Cricut or Silhouette machine for cutting out the images.
- Card stock – I used an 80 pound textured cardstock from 12×12 cardstock shop. I think the thicker cardstock is a great option here to make these treat containers extra sturdy.
- Adhesive – my suggestion for this Valentine treat holder is craft glue. For the heart domes (because of the lack of a lip), I did have to use hot glue to attach them.
- Domes โ- you will of course need something to hold the candy in, I grabbed these round domes and these heart domes. Now, my round domes are MASSIVE (it’s almost comical) but you can use any size and adjust the file down.
- Candy – I used the gummy bears from my last Valentine’s Day project but you can fill these with any candy or small toy that you would like.

Step-by-Step Instructions
Cricut Design Space: Sizing & Cutting
Open Cricut Design Space and upload your selected Valentine candy holder SVG file.

Resize the file for your dome or heart holder. The easiest way to do this is to grab the basic shape (i.e. a circle) and measure the inside of the dome straight across (not on a curve). My dome was 3.2 inches across. I made a circle this size, placed it on the top layer of the file where the circle is, and then scaled down my file so it fit snug. Just be a little roomy with the heart shapes since your hearts might be slightly different from mine if you did not get what I did.
If you are not confident in sizing, my suggestion is to test cut your pieces (like the circle or heart from the gnome candy holder) and check it with your domes.
Select the correct material settings for your card stock. I like to use the medium cardstock setting for mine but you should always test your materials.
Isnโt it amazing to see your machine work its magic? Watching the precision cuts is so satisfying!
How to Assemble the Valentine Candy Holder SVG
Once your pieces are cut, carefully remove them from the cutting mat.
I placed my candy onto where the perforation lines were and kept them close together. This works as a guide for you. You can also use the next layer as a guide to make sure everything is lined up properly.

I added my glue carefully around the edge of my dome holder, then placed it on top of my candy and pressed down on the paper. You have to move quickly but also carefully here as to not get glue on your candy.

Start layering on top of this with glue on each layer. The heart candy holders SVG is as snug as the circle domes are just as a reference!
For the gnome, he is interchangeable with just the balloon shape, so you will just build his layers up and add the dome chandy holders after to the tip of the balloon string.

Fun Tip: Add extra flair by decorating with stickers, glitter, or handwritten messages. Heart eyes are guaranteed from your Valentine when they see your creativity!

Love the heart shaped candy holder. I’m making them for a luncheon I attend every month. Also, I saved all the small heart cutouts to use for shaker cards. Thanks for these really cute designs.
Thank you! I am so glad you enjoy them.
