Common Materials You’ll Need

For car bumper stickers or window decals, these are the most popular way to get long-lasting results:

Permanent vinyl (the most durable option for harsh weather conditions)
Transfer tape (medium tack works best for smooth surfaces)
Scraper or squeegee tool
Weeding tools

Reminder, when making a car decal you want to go with popular material options that have weather resistance and are made for outdoor applications. Temporary vinyl is not going to be your best choice for this! There are a variety of materials you can choose from for decals, just make sure you are using the right one!

How to Apply a Vinyl Car Decal (Brief Guide)

Upload your SVG file to Cricut Design Space or whichever software you are using.
Cut your SVG using on your machine. I used the premium outdoor vinyl setting
Weed the design carefully: small letters on SVG designs need careful weeding.
Apply low to medium-tack transfer tape and burnish well.
Clean the car window with rubbing alcohol or windex.
Place the decal, squeegee, and peel the transfer tape back slowly.
