Let’s craft an easy paper daffodil flower with a free SVG template download to make with your Cricut or Silhouette cutting machine.
Spring has sprung right? Continuing my year of paper flowers we are in March and are creating some happy daffodils! We will follow along with my step-by-step instructions and free digital download to create these beautiful but simple paper flowers.
When I created this paper flower template I really was worried that this month might be the hardest one yet, but they fooled me (it took 4-5 tests) but I ended up making an easy free SVG that should take less than 5 minutes per flower to create!

Materials and Tools
This free daffodil template doesn’t require much in terms of materials and tools which is great for a beginner crafter!
- Cricut or Silhouette cutting machine
- Paper – I am using 65 lb cardstock paper in white and two shades of yellow plus green for the calyx of the flower.
- Hot glue and glue gun
- Floral wire – you can also use floral tape to attach it to the flower head but I never really do this technique for my paper flowers.
- Scissors to cut the floral wire
- Optional: tweezers to help roll up the center of your flower but you can roll up with your fingers as well.

Cricut Design Space Set Up
These are a simple set up once you have downloaded the free SVG File for the paper flower daffodil you will upload into Cricut Design Space and resize. Make sure to resize the whole file if you choose to do so. I kept my file so the white flower petals were just about 4 inches wide.
You can then change any colors you need to change and send your project to be cut.
Silhouette Studio Set Up
This is going to have the same first steps in terms of uploading and resizing the paper flower template.
I make sure my mat size is correct and I layer all my colors on top of each other, you can also use the nest feature.
Then I cut with the fill selected and go through each color and have my Silhouette do the work.
Assembling the Paper Flower Daffodils
I was so concerned when I saw that the flower of March was the daffodil but after a few tests, I am very happy with this template. I know its not perfect like a real daffodil flower but I tried my very best!
Starting with your white paper petals, for the petal shape you will give these a slight curve with your fingers, no need for score lines or fancy tools here! Glue these two layers together so you see all 6 petals.
Next, the yellow center should be curved into a cone. The cone sides will overlap a little bit and the bottom circle should be the size of the hole in the cone (it doesn’t need to be perfect. I used hot glue here as well to glue this.
Next, I grabbed my other yellow paper center and rolled this up with my tweezers then glued the end in. I used hot glue to attach this into the flower center and fanned it out slightly with my fingers.
Then I glued the yellow center to the white flower base in the middle of the flower to create the head of the paper daffodil flower.
You can stop here or you can use the green paper calyx to add on a stem. I poked a hole in the middle of the calyx with my tweezers and fed through a tiny bit of floral wire. I hot glued this down to one of the leaves.
Then I hot glued the whole calyx to the back of the paper flower right in the middle of the flower and bent it slightly. Now you can make a bouquet of stemmed paper daffodils!
They are truly that easy to create and you can make a single daffodil in under 5 minutes or a whole group of them quickly for a daffodil bouquet! They are such beautiful flowers and I am so glad to share this with you!
