1. Download the SVG File

2. Upload the File into Cricut Design Space

Once downloaded, upload the file into Cricut Design Space or open Silhouette Studio. This design is pre-sized, but feel free to resize the file to fit your desired dimensions. For reference, my flower petals were about three and a half to four inches across.

3. Cut the Design

After resizing, cut the pieces using your cutting machine. Use cardstock in your chosen color palette, such as white or yellow for the petals and green for the leaves and calyx.

4. Add Color Details

To give the petals a more realistic look, use a cheap makeup palette or ink to lightly dust the yellow centers with green. A dense-bristled paintbrush works great for this step. Remember, less is moreโ€”only color the centers to avoid overpowering the design.

5. Shape the Petals & Add Texture

Using a bone tool or scoring stylus, curve the petals gently:

  • Place the edge of your tool and press inward to create grooves. (optional)
  • Add a slight pinch at the tips to give depth and movement.
  • Curve slightly outward to create some shape.

This shaping technique brings the flower design to life, making it visually stunning.

6. Assemble the Center

Roll the center cone for your paper flower and secure it with craft glue. Flare the edges slightly for a natural look after it dries.

7. Layer the Petals

Poke a hole in the center with a pair of tweezers or a weeding tool to slide the petals onto the floral wire.

Slide the first layer of petals onto the wire, securing it with hot glue. Repeat with the second layer, ensuring the petals are evenly spaced. The easiest way to achieve a balanced look is to align the second layer petals between the gaps of the first layer.

8. Add the Calyx and Leaves

Attach the calyx to the base of the flower, shaping it slightly for a realistic finish. Next, glue the leaves onto the floral wire, wrapping the base with floral tape for a clean look.
